First week on the new job

Hope this finds everyone well! This past week I started my new job.Quit smiling you LCSD people- I know- I started a whole week or maybe two before you. Next year I'll be returning staff so my start date will be later.
First Day on the job

Well, I arrived safely to Taipa, Macau and have been here 2 weeks already. I'm staying in what I'm told is very nice housing.  I am surrounded by very tall apartment buildings. It is quite easy and quick to travel to work. I could live further out where there's a lot more greenery but it's also more difficult and takes longer to get to work and for shopping. Everything is close here. I guess I'll have to get my green fix at the local parks.

It is time to do something other than get settled in as I only have a small living space to prepare. That part is finished and I've spent some time orienting myself to my surroundings-the smells, sights and sounds. It's been 2 weeks full of shopping for groceries, items for my room and exploring. I've had to make quite a few trips as I am still only comfortable to walking where I need to go rather than dealing with buses and taxis which are rather Chinese oriented. I am in use of a whole two Chinese phrases and attempt a new one every three days. That's it for now:) My brain can only deal with so much.

Much to my surprise I didn't have to deal with considerable jet lag so that was a plus.  The humidity has my body in a tangle as well as my hair!!  I am sure the humidity takes a bit of climatizing.  The temperature today is 30 and it's only 10 a.m.

We've been treated very well during our first week at work as you can see we've been touring and dining as well as getting oriented in the school.
I learned that Macau is famous for it's Portugeuse egg tarts.
Lunch for all 28 newbies.

Everything is GIANT near the casinos including the stuffed animals
Visited the panda zoo

The Beginning

I will begin this blog with a little background about the origin of my blog's name. Kundalini is described as a sleeping, dormant potential force in the human organism practiced in Indian yoga. Kundalini is a psycho-spiritual energy, the energy of the consciousness, which is thought to reside within the sleeping body, and is aroused either through spiritual discipline or spontaneously to bring new states of consciousness.  Kundalini has been interpreted from the Bible as "the solar principle in man,".

I first heard of this word through yoga the fall of 2011 and found it in my search for books to continue practicing yoga. I also came across some stones that are said to help bring about this energy.  The word kept cropping up for me and in reflecting on its meaning brought me to naming this blog as I did. My journey continues in exploring the world and myself.
