March 25, 2016
What happened to the month of March? Of all of the months that I’ve been here in Macau, this month has disappeared the quickest, even with the gray skies and high humidity to endure. Children come into the classroom when they arrive at school rather than wait in the outdoor classroom, so our day pretty much begins at 8:00 with those early arrivals, just like in Canada. The days have seen very few outdoor recesses and this makes for a lengthy day. We do get a reprieve when there’s a Mandarin teacher in the classroom twice a week. I have to be creative with the inside days, incorporating a lot of movement into the children’s day. They actually have handled these days well to this point, but then today went very smoothly so I can say that right at this moment.

Tonight I finished one round of Student Led Conferences. Children were very excited to be the teacher and to show their parents what they have learned. That means, that I have also just finished another reporting period. All of the children are developing in their learning and I am pleased for the most part with all of their progress.  Hey, they are only 3 years old.Tomorrow, I assist with prekindergarten interview intakes for half a day. This should prove to be another learning experience.

I teach another week (for four days), we have PD next Friday and then we move into our last week off for this school year. I will be happy to see Saturday arrive, as I am in charge of organizing the food for a middle year’s conference that’s a happening thing this coming weekend. Next week will be a breeze!

Is anyone worried about what's happening with the US election? I’ve only listened to a few podcasts from CBC but I am concerned about the outcome of that particular event. How about the hockey??? BLAH, not good on that front, for the Canadian Teams!!!  I hear you are having an awesome winter turned into spring. A great year to be away-naught!!!

My photos are a hodge podge of events that were in my life this month. I would like to post photos of my class but you'll have to go to the prek school blog to see those unfortunately.

I’d like to hear from any and all of you at any time. I’m also up for facetime or skyping at any time. Take care and Happy Easter!! Love you all and miss everybody immensely.
