Christmas Travels

Christmas in Canada
I flew to Vancouver from Macau and spent a couple of days with Stacey and her family. Grace and I wandered outside looking for adventures so that’s how we ended up at the campus housing reception looking at the very tall Christmas balloon arrangements and at A and W.  There had been a significant snowfall that day, so later the whole family went sledding down a small hill on a Rubbermaid container lid (Stacey’s version of a sledJ). We spent a magical evening walking around the Botanical Gardens Christmas Lights.
Next, I flew to Phoenix and spent time with Phil and Carol. They took me to places such as Cave Creek, the botanical gardens and on a short hike. Carol and I shopped, mostly for shoes, and we relaxed in the evenings on their patio, with a glass of wine and great meals.  I so enjoy the company of these close and true friends and am so grateful for their offer to come and visit.

Lastly, Mikaela picked me up in Edmonton after I stayed the evening at Lionel’s place. I hardly got to see Lionel and his family as they were very busy working during this Christmas season. I spent a relaxing and wonderful week in Lloydminster at Mikaela and Matthew’s home. There were gift openings, lots of food, plenty of cheer, games and friendship to be had by all at the McAllister household.  Mikaela and I even had the opportunity to walk a few of the mornings and visit briefly with Cassandra.
I drove to North Battleford to visit my mom and Michele drove up from Saskatoon to connect with me there. Mikaela took me back to Edmonton to the airport and after a chat with Stacey, Costco shopping for me to bring back cheese, coffee beans and dried cranberries and a great meal at Earls. I was also fortunate to visit with a few friends like Camela, Greg and Cindy, who cooked me a scrumptious meal as usual. I was privileged to share another memorable Christmas season with the people I love.
